As a member, you’re doing more than attending events — you’re making a statement that you believe in creating vibrant, safe, and affirming spaces for LGBTIQA+ people and allies across the City of Melton. Free Members have the right to vote in annual elections, stand for election themselves, and stay connected to the direction of Melton Rainbow Social. Paid Members deepen their support, gaining access to discounts and special benefits while directly helping us expand our programs, launch new events, and reduce barriers for those doing it tough. Why Become a Paid Member? While free membership gives you a voice and a role in shaping our future, paid membership allows you to make an even greater difference. By becoming an Affiliate or Supporting Member, you’re directly contributing to the long‑term sustainability and growth of Melton Rainbow Social. Your contribution goes towards: Hiring venues and covering event insurance Fairly paying guest presenters and performers Buying materials for workshops and making events low‑cost or free for those in need Expanding our reach to isolated or underserved areas of the community A Volunteer‑Led Organisation Melton Rainbow Social is a 100% volunteer‑run, incorporated not‑for‑profit group. No one is paid — every event, workshop, and social gathering is made possible through the hard work and passion of volunteers. While grants and donations help, they don’t cover every cost and aren’t guaranteed. By choosing to become a member — free or paid — you’re making an investment in a future where Melton Rainbow Social can continue to create spaces that are welcoming, inclusive, and affirming for all. Affiliate MembershipAffiliate Membership is perfect for those who want to stay connected without a minimal financial commitment. It’s $49 for a full year to join and helps you stay in the loop with everything we’re doing.Affiliate Members receive:
Affiliate Members receive all Free Member perks, plus:- Invitations to member-only exclusive events- A physical MRS member exclusive badge- An optional MRS-themed social media profile border to show your pride and support!
Supporting MembershipSupporting Membership is ideal for those who want to do a little more to ensure Melton Rainbow Social continues to grow and thrive. Your annual membership fee of $89 directly supports our events, workshops, and outreach programs. Supporting Members receive all Free and Affiliate Member perks, plus:- Discounted pricing on selected events through our tiered pricing system- A direct invite to our Special General Meetings (SGMs)

Free or low cost events and workshops in public locations like parks, cafes, community centres where members can meet casually to build community connections.

Vibrant Vibes
Entertainment based events with a small fee to cover the cost of the event. (Food, entertainers etc.
Think themed nights, gaming tournaments etc.

Pride Premium
Events with a higher, variable cost for a more unique experience.
Costs may include travel, food or entertainment expenses. These events are our most popular and exclusive!
Event Pricing
To help us keep things sustainable and transparent, we’ve introduced a three-tiered event pricing structure. This model ensures that Supporting Members receive great value, while also helping us cover the costs of running diverse and exciting programs.
Social Sparks
These are our light-touch, low-cost events – casual catch-ups, craft sessions, or social meetups that don’t require many or minimal resources.
Affiliate/ Free Members/ Non-Members: $1.00
Supporting Members: FREE
These events are all about connection, conversation, and community – made more accessible for those who’ve chosen to support us.
Vibrant Vibes
These mid-range events include things like meals, special guests, or more detailed workshop components. They require more planning and resources but remain affordable.
Affiliate/ Free Members/ Non-Members: $5.00
Supporting Members: $2.50
Your support helps reduce the cost of these events, making engaging and enriching experiences easier to access.
Pride Premium
These are our large-scale or high-cost events, like major celebrations, day trips, or premium workshops. The price will vary depending on the event’s size and cost, but Supporting Members will often receive a discount or early access.
