- Melton Rainbow Social is excited to announce the introduction of its exclusive Paid Membership Program, commencing May 2025! Becoming a paid member of Melton Rainbow Social is more than just getting discounted tickets to events or first look opportunities for workshops, it is a chance to support the community that supports you! As a Not For Profit organisation run 100% by volunteers we rely on government grants and community donations to stay afloat, and to ensure we are able to continue running events and workshops into the future. By becoming a paid member you are helping ensure our programs remain available to the community who needs them! With our new Paid Membership will be introducing a tiered event pricing schedule to ensure all our paid members get the perks they deserve! Why Become a Paid Member? Joining as a paid member is more than just unlocking discounts – it’s an active way to support a group that values and uplifts you. As a member, you’re not just accessing events – you’re investing in a vibrant, safe, and affirming space for LGBTIQA+ people and allies across the City of Melton. Your membership helps us do more: reach isolated members of the community, expand our programs to new locations, and offer events that are diverse, inclusive, and accessible. It sends a powerful message: you believe in what Melton Rainbow Social stands for, and you want to see it grow. Whether you attend every event or just want to show your support, becoming a paid member is a meaningful way to help us continue creating positive social change through connection, creativity, and celebration. Supporting a Volunteer-Led Organisation Melton Rainbow Social is a 100% volunteer-run, incorporated not-for-profit group. That means no one gets paid – every event, every workshop, every social gathering is made possible through the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. While we receive some funding through grants and donations, these sources are never guaranteed, and they don’t cover everything. When you sign up as a paid member, your contribution directly helps us:
- Hire venues and cover event insurance Pay guest presenters and performers fairly Provide materials for workshops Keep events low-cost or free for people doing it tough Reach more people in the community through outreach and promotion Your membership ensures Melton Rainbow Social remains community-owned, community-led, and community-driven.

At Melton Rainbow Social, we want everyone to feel welcome and involved — whether you're showing up to every event or simply cheering us on from the sidelines. That’s why we offer two types of membership: Affiliate and Supporting.
Affiliate Membership
Affiliate Membership is perfect for those who want to stay connected without a minimal financial commitment. $49 for a full year, helps you stay in the loop with everything we’re doing.
Affiliate Members receive:
Invitations to member-only exclusive events
A personal invitation to our Annual General Meeting (AGM)
A physical MRS member badge
An optional MRS-themed social media profile border to show your pride and support!
Supporting Membership:
Supporting Membership is ideal for those who want to do a little more to ensure Melton Rainbow Social continues to grow and thrive. Your annual membership fee of $89 directly supports our events, workshops, and outreach programs.
Supporting Members receive all Affiliate Member perks, plus:
Discounted pricing on selected events through our tiered pricing system
A direct invite to our Special General Meetings (SGMs)

Social Spark
Free or low cost events and workshops in public locations like parks, cafes, community centres where members can meet casually to build community connections.

Vibrant Vibes
Entertainment based events with a small fee to cover the cost of the event. (Food, entertainers etc.
Think themed nights, gaming tournaments etc.

Pride Premium
Events with a higher, variable cost for a more unique experience.
Costs may include travel, food or entertainment expenses. These events are our most popular and exclusive!
Event Pricing
To help us keep things sustainable and transparent, we’ve introduced a three-tiered event pricing structure. This model ensures that Supporting Members receive great value, while also helping us cover the costs of running diverse and exciting programs.
Social Sparks
These are our light-touch, low-cost events – casual catch-ups, craft sessions, or social meetups that don’t require many or minimal resources.
Affiliate/Non-Members: $1.00
Supporting Members: FREE
These events are all about connection, conversation, and community – made more accessible for those who’ve chosen to support us.
Vibrant Vibes
These mid-range events include things like meals, special guests, or more detailed workshop components. They require more planning and resources but remain affordable.
Affiliate/Non-Members: $5.00
Supporting Members: $2.50
Your support helps reduce the cost of these events, making engaging and enriching experiences easier to access.
Pride Premium
These are our large-scale or high-cost events, like major celebrations, day trips, or premium workshops. The price will vary depending on the event’s size and cost, but Supporting Members will often receive a discount or early access.
Affiliate/Non-Members: Full ticket price (varies by event)
Supporting Members: Discounted pricing where applicable
These events are designed to be special highlights in our calendar – and Supporting Members get first dibs when spaces are limited!
